An independent publication for the vibe coder.
Okane Land is an independent research publication for the vibe coder: the solo builder who uses AI to make money as a team of one, writing the product, finding the users, and pricing the work. You get to decide with real numbers instead of guesswork, and to skip the tools and dead ends we already paid to test. We research three things for you: the tools, through hands-on tests on software we bought and used; the strategies, with sourced claims to back it up; and the founders, through interviews with people who have built it. We do the hard research so you do not have to; the work is free to read, and the newsletter arrives only when there is something researched to send.
What's here
- The Signal: the weekly column. One AI story a week that changes a decision you make as a solo builder, argued to a thesis and verified to primary sources.
- The Studio: Vibe coding entrepreneurs interviewed, the real story behind a project, and whether it actually works and earns.
- The Primer: how to actually use the AI tools you work with, from coding to content to automation, and exactly where each one stops being worth it.
- The Palette: the curated shortlist of AI tools worth your time, one clear line each.
- The Proof: one tool, put through its paces, with a straight verdict on whether it's worth it.
- The Study: the research and the math nobody else does, what things cost, what's worth paying for, and how the tools compare. Researched, not guessed.
- The Ledger: the business of shipping, income, pricing, selling, and growth, with real numbers. How people actually earn with AI, receipts required.
- The Community ↗: the room where you ask the questions you can't Google, swap the tools and prompts that work, and help the next person.

How to read the badges
The Studio · the Receipt Check
Is the build real? Verified means it is live and its receipts hold up, hands-on when we can run it ourselves, independently confirmed when it is a B2B build we cannot. Impressive demo means it looked strong but we could not confirm it in real use. Unconfirmed means we are relaying the maker's claims, not yet checked.
The Proof · tested
Every review is a tool we used ourselves: signed up, ran real tasks, and logged what it costs. The verdict is one of three, Worth it, Situational, or Skip it, and the skepticism is on the tool, never the people.
About the starfish
Lose an arm, grow it back. That's why our mascot is a starfish, not a trophy. Half of building is the stuff that didn't work, so bring the failures too. Nobody here pretends they nailed it on the first try.
