Privacy
What we collect, what we don't, and how to switch it off. The short version, because that is the only one worth reading.
What we collect
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It records page views, rough location (country and region), device and browser type, and the site or search that sent you here. That is the whole list. We do not collect your name, your email, or anything that identifies you personally, and we do not try to.
Cookies, and your choice
Where you are sets the default. In the EU, UK, and Switzerland, analytics stays off until you say yes: the first
time you visit, a banner asks, and nothing loads or goes to Google until you accept. Everywhere else, analytics
is on by default with no banner. You stay in control either way. The cookies link in the footer
switches it on or off any time, and switching it off also clears the _ga cookies. Accepting sets a
few of those cookies so a returning visit can be told from a new one.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your data. We run no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, and no cross-site profiling. The analytics exist for one reason: to tell us which pieces are worth writing more of.
The forum
Our community at community.okaneland.com runs the same Google Analytics with its own consent prompt, kept separate from this one (it is a different site, so your choice there is its own). Signing up is covered by the forum's own terms, shown when you register.
Who runs this
Okane Land runs this site. Questions about your data, or want it confirmed that none of it points back to you? Email [email protected].
