The data behind Claude Code limits
Every count in the year subscribers sued over limits comes from this file: 2,122 public posts by Claude subscribers about usage limits, gathered on July 30, 2026 and reviewed one by one. The file carries our annotations and the public permalinks. The posts themselves stay where their authors put them, one click away.

What each row is
One row per post: a thread, a comment, or a story. Labeling was a keyword first pass with a hand-checked
review pass on top, so the topic counts undercount anything phrased in a writer's own words, and the
confidence column says which rows rest on an explicit first-person statement (390 of 2,122 do).
| column | meaning |
|---|---|
| source | hn, reddit r/ClaudeAI, or reddit r/ClaudeCode |
| url | public permalink to the story, thread, or comment |
| date | post date, YYYY-MM-DD |
| score | venue-native score: Reddit or HN points |
| tier | stated plan only: pro, max, max5, max20, team, api, free, or unknown when the author never says |
| topics | semicolon-joined topic labels, multi-label (label key below) |
| verdict | keeping / cancelled / considering / unclear, from explicit statements |
| confidence | clear only when a first-person tier or verdict statement matched; else ambiguous |

| Reddit r/ClaudeAI | 1340 | from 22 limit-focused threads read in full, of 200 matched across eight searches |
| Reddit r/ClaudeCode | 299 | same 22-thread read; the coding-specific subreddit |

Absent by design or by blocking: the official Anthropic Discord (no public web archive), X (search walls), app-store reviews (they review the chat app, not the coding plans), and Trustpilot (thin on this product). Search lanes and the gather method are in the study's method section.

Read this before citing it
- Every channel here is self-selected. Limit threads overweight the people who hit limits; nobody posts that their meter behaved. Treat rankings as "what subscribers bring up," never as shares of the user base.
- Several of the highest-scoring threads are satire, and satire is labeled like any other post: it counts as a limits post because it is one. The thread list marks the known cases.
- The product changed during the window (silent tightening Jul 2025, weekly caps Aug 2025, five-hour doubling May 2026, promotional weekly raises after). Read every row against its
date. - Usernames and post text are deliberately absent. Verify any row by opening its permalink; quote authors from the source, with attribution, at quotation length.
